The NBA announced today that LaMelo Ball has been named an Eastern Conference All-Star reserve for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game, which will be played at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday.
All-Star and one of 11 players selected before turning 21. He is the first Hornet since Kemba Walker in 2019.
Ball has averaged 19.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in 47 games, all starts. He has 26 points.
To date, only Johnson (1993) and Mourning (1994) have been selected as All-Stars in their second year (1994).
LeBron James and Kevin Durant, the captains of each conference, will select Ball from a pool of players picked as starters and reserves by fans.
