Let's Know What is Groundhog Day

GROUNDHOG DAY is coming up, and with it another year of seasonal predictions.

Thousands will attend ceremonies across the US, but what does it all mean?

Since 1886, Groundhog Day has been observed on the same day. People across the North of the

US are preparing to commemorate the notoriously repetitive event on February 2, 2022. The day revolves around

the famous groundhog ceremony in Pennsylvania, but what does it really mean? Why is it honoured?

The 136th anniversary of Groundhog Day is set for February 2nd. This US tradition originated in Punxsutawney,

Pennsylvania, and is based on an old Germanic tale. The day derives from the legend that a groundhog

emerges from its burrow at the start of February. If the groundhog sees his shadow and the weather

is clear, the winter will last six more weeks. A cloudy day signals the arrival of spring.
