Development

Shyam Singha Roy Jio Rockers is a supernatural romance thriller film directed by Rahul Sankrityan that will be released in India in the Telugu language. Nani (in a dual character) co-stars in the film, which also stars Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty, and Madonna Sebastian. The film, which is set against the background of Kolkata, is centred on the idea of reincarnation. The film’s soundtrack was created by Mickey J. Meyer, while the cinematography and editing were done by Sanu John Varghese and Naveen Nooli.

The film’s release date was set in February 2020, and principal filming began in December of that year. In July 2021, the final cut of the film will be released in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Because to the COVID-19 epidemic, the production and release of Shyam Singha Roy have been delayed. The film will be released on December 24, 2021, according to the schedule.

On the 18th of December, 2019, Rahul Sankrityan (of Taxiwaala fame) recounted a screenplay to Nani, which was deemed to be a “original narrative” by the audience.

According to original reports, the movie will be developed by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainment label, which had previously collaborated with Nani on the Jersey film (2019).

In February 2020, the film’s title, Shyam Singha Roy,[5] was revealed, and it was anticipated to begin production in May 2020[6,] yet the release date was postponed owing to the COVID-19 epidemic in India.

A. R. Rahman was contacted to compose the music for the film[8], while Nirav Shah was tasked with overseeing the cinematography. The film was set to be released in March 2020. [9] Later, Anirudh Ravichander was named as the composer, presumably because Rahman had declined the offer. Anirudh’s third collaboration with Nani, after Jersey and Nani’s Gang Leader, was intended to be his most ambitious project to date.

Filming

The film was officially launched on December 11, 2020,[24] in Hyderabad, in the presence of the cast and crew[25], and Nani’s father performed the muhurat filmed for the production.

The first day of principal filming will be on December 21, 2020, in Hyderabad, India. Six crore rupees would be spent on the construction of a roadway with a Kolkata motif as well as the Kalighat Kali Temple [17]. [28] “[29] In February 2021, the crew started shooting critical sequences in Kolkata, India. “[30] [30] The shooting was temporarily suspended in India owing to the COVID-19 shutdown, but it was restarted in July 2021 when the situation improved. Strong winds and rains in Hyderabad caused significant damage to the Kolkata set, which was rebuilt by art director Avinash Kolla. [31] Filming was ended on July 26, 2021, and post-production started immediately after.

It was thought that the picture would be produced on a massive scale, making it the most costly film in Nani’s career.

Producer Naga Vamsi, citing the pandemic scenario, wanted to scale down the production’s budget;[12] Vamsi wished to postpone the project until Nani had completed the filming of Tuck Jagadish;[13] The production was transferred to Venkat Boyanapalli due to conflicts of opinion between Nani and Vamsi. Venkat Boyanapalli will be producing the film under his newly founded brand Niharika Entertainment. [13] [14]

On October 25, 2020, a new poster was released to coincide with Dusshera, including composer Mickey J. Meyer, cinematographer Sanu John Varghese, and editor Naveen Nooli among others who contributed to the film.

[a reference is required] The film’s director, Sankrityan, said that it is focused on the topic of reincarnation[15][16] and that it is set in the Kolkata setting. [17]

Casting

It was decided to cast Sai Pallavi in the film, who had previously worked with Nani on Middle Class Abbayi.

The actress Rashmika Mandanna was reportedly contacted for the starring part[19], while Krithi Shetty was ultimately cast in the role.

Madonna Sebastian has also been announced as a lead, marking her return to Telugu cinema following her performance in Premam (2016).

Later on, Murali Sharma, Abhinav Gomatam, and Rahul Ravindran were added to the cast as supporting characters.

[a reference is required] In March 2021, it was announced that Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta will be playing a significant part in the film.
